Nahyan Bin Mubarak Opens First Cleveland Clinic Global Summit On Innovations In Cancer Care

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, recently inaugurated the first Cleveland Clinic Global Summit on Innovations in Cancer Care in Abu Dhabi. The event, spanning three days at the Four Seasons Hotel, was a significant gathering under the auspices of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, a part of the M42 group. It saw the participation of over 30 distinguished oncology experts from Cleveland Clinic’s worldwide network, underscoring the institution's dedication to pushing forward medical education and innovation in cancer care within the UAE and the broader region.

During the summit, Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the UAE's leadership in adopting advanced technologies for cancer care through research and innovation. This includes efforts towards better screening, detection, and prevention methods. He pointed out that under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, health and wellness have been prioritized highly, with a focus on excellence in healthcare services, teamwork, relevant medical research, and rapid technology adoption.

Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Chairman of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, underscored the necessity of accelerating cancer research focused on prevention, precision, and personalisation during his presentation speech.

The summit concluded with significant participation from local, regional, and international attendees. It featured engaging discussions and specialty sessions on various topics such as genomics and AI in cancer prevention, advancements in surgical and radiation oncology, and global challenges and opportunities in oncology.

Attendees also had an exclusive opportunity to tour the Fatima bint Mubarak Cancer Center at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. This provided insights into the latest technologies and therapies employed at the center and highlighted personalized treatment plans for patients.
