Nahyan Bin Mubarak Celebrates 53rd Eid Al Itihad At Abu Dhabi Forum For Peace Ceremony

The Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace recently held a ceremony at the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi to celebrate the 53rd Eid Al Itihad. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended the event. Also present were Shaikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace and President of the UAE Fatwa Council, along with several senior officials, dignitaries, and diplomatic representatives.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan expressed pride in the Union's journey initiated by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He stated: "Eid Al Etihad is a significant national occasion in the UAE, during which we commemorate the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of our nation. This momentous day provides an opportunity to express our collective gratitude, deep appreciation, and profound respect for his enduring legacy."

He further emphasised that Sheikh Zayed's legacy continues through generations dedicated to national love and global peace. These generations are inspired by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision, guiding the UAE towards progress. "We honour late Sheikh Zayed's enduring legacy and are grateful that he cultivated generations committed to national love, global peace, and harmony," he added.

Shaikh Abdullah bin Bayyah highlighted Eid Al Etihad as a chance to reaffirm commitment to peace and tolerance values set by Sheikh Zayed. He noted that the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace has embodied these values over ten years. The Forum has strengthened the UAE’s position as a destination for peace lovers and a symbol of coexistence.

The Forum's achievements over its first decade include presenting Muslims and humanity with a new vision focused on peace. This vision prioritises peace at the heart of human concerns. The Forum aims to demonstrate "the art of peace" through its initiatives.

A documentary screened during the celebration showcased a decade-long journey of efforts starting in 2014 in the UAE. These initiatives reflect the UAE’s mission to promote global peace and coexistence.

As Eid Al Etihad marks its 53rd year, Sheikh Nahyan affirmed their identity as descendants of Zayed by preserving his achievements. He stated they adhere to his vision by promoting worldwide peace while advancing society globally: "As the UAE commemorates its 53rd Eid Al Etihad, we proudly affirm our identity as the true sons and daughters of Zayed."

The event underscored how deeply rooted values like tolerance continue shaping modern UAE society. It celebrated both historical achievements and ongoing efforts towards fostering harmony within diverse communities worldwide.
