Nahyan Bin Mubarak Celebrates Syrian Cultural Heritage With Community Event In UAE
The UAE recently hosted a significant event celebrating Syrian culture and heritage at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, joined over 25,000 attendees, primarily from the Syrian community. The gathering highlighted the cultural richness of Syria and underscored the enduring ties between the UAE and Syria.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasised the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations, built on shared history and values. He noted that these connections serve as a foundation for expanding cooperation to benefit both countries and the broader Arab region. The event was organised by "Emirates Love Syria," a community page dedicated to showcasing inspiring stories from Syrians in the UAE.
The celebration included various cultural performances, traditional dances, and artistic displays. Attendees enjoyed exhibitions featuring Syrian handicrafts and culinary offerings from different cities. Families participated in interactive experiences that highlighted Syria's diverse cultural identity. These activities showcased the significant role of the Syrian community in the UAE's development.
Sheikh Nahyan honoured several notable Syrian achievers for their contributions across various fields in the UAE. Among them were Mohammed Bashir Qalaaji of B Clinic, Mohammed Bashar Salo of Cedar Global, renowned artist Yasser Anwar Al-Azma, and actor Asaad Fadda. These individuals exemplify the dedication and creativity of Syrians living in the UAE.
The event reaffirmed the strong fraternal relations between Syria and the UAE, which continue to grow across economic, commercial, investment, and cultural sectors. Both nations are committed to expanding cooperation through joint initiatives that support shared development goals. This partnership aims to serve mutual interests while fostering deeper ties.
