MWL Chief Stresses Youth's Key Role At Africa Forum
Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, recently attended the Africa Youth Forum as a guest of honour. The forum provided a platform for young people to discuss their issues with prominent religious, political, and civic leaders.
During his address, Al-Issa highlighted the crucial role youths play in shaping their countries' futures. He stressed the importance of implementing plans and programs that prioritise areas vital to them, such as education and training efficiency. He noted that addressing these areas is essential for the development and empowerment of young people.

Al-Issa also discussed troubling statistics related to youth education, particularly highlighting challenges faced by girls who are deprived of education solely because of their gender. He called for concerted efforts to identify and address barriers hindering young people from accessing quality education. "We share a responsibility in finding effective solutions," he stated.
The Secretary General also spoke about the role of youths in facilitating dialogue between followers of different religions and cultures. He addressed the influence of extremist ideas on some young people and emphasised the essential role youths play in charitable endeavours. Al-Issa urged for discussions on youth issues to be translated into effective plans with tangible impacts.
In addition to these points, Al-Issa underscored the importance of taking youths’ interests into account when shaping future policies. This was particularly highlighted during his session with the Youth Parliament of Kenya, where he emphasised that youth perspectives are crucial for developing relevant and impactful policies.
The forum served as a significant event for addressing various issues concerning youth today. It provided an opportunity for young people to voice their concerns and engage with leaders who can help implement changes. The discussions aimed at creating actionable plans that would positively impact the lives of young individuals across different regions.
Al-Issa's participation in the Africa Youth Forum underscores his commitment to addressing youth issues globally. His emphasis on education, dialogue, and policy-making highlights key areas that need attention to empower young people effectively.
The event concluded with a call for ongoing efforts to support youth development through practical measures and collaborative initiatives. The focus remains on ensuring that young people have access to opportunities that will enable them to contribute meaningfully to society.
