MWL Launches Girls' Education Initiative In Collaboration With Pakistani Government To Empower Muslim Communities
The Muslim World League (MWL), led by Secretary General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, has launched an international initiative focused on girls' education in Muslim communities. This effort, supported by the Pakistani government, was inaugurated in Islamabad under the patronage of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The initiative aims to promote awareness about the significance of educating girls through various programs and partnerships.
Several notable figures attended the launch event, including Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha. Also present were muftis from different Islamic regions, members of Islamic scholarly councils, and leaders from educational institutions like the Islamic Fiqh Academy of the MWL and the International Islamic Fiqh Academy of the OIC.

The initiative seeks to create awareness in Muslim communities regarding girls' education's importance. It plans to achieve this through diverse themes, joint programs, and collaborative agreements. A key component is the issuance of the Islamabad declaration for girls' education, which will be shared with international governmental and non-governmental organizations.
This declaration advocates for establishing an international day dedicated to promoting its primary objective. Additionally, it involves launching a platform for global partnerships and signing agreements with regional and international bodies focused on empowering women and educating girls.
Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa praised the initiative as a significant step forward in advancing girls' education. He emphasized its practical approach aimed at achieving concrete results through high-quality agreements designed to ensure tangible outcomes. He also noted that the Islamabad declaration would help solidify and strengthen these efforts.
Prime Minister Sharif commended the MWL for its commitment to education. He highlighted that providing equal educational opportunities for girls is one of today's most urgent challenges. Meanwhile, Taha expressed OIC's readiness to support this initiative and contribute to its success for girls across the Islamic world.
The initiative represents a collaborative effort involving various stakeholders committed to enhancing educational opportunities for girls in Muslim communities worldwide. By fostering partnerships and raising awareness, it aims to address existing challenges and pave the way for a more inclusive educational landscape.
