Muslim World League Honors Winners Of Premier Global Quran Recitations Contest

Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, recently honoured winners of the Global Elite Competition of the Ten Recitations. The event, titled "Elite Competition for the 10 Quran Recitations," was held in Nairobi, Kenya. This competition is unique as it aims to promote the ten recitations of the Quran.

The competition features two categories: major 10 recitations and minor 10 recitations. Al-Issa highlighted that MWL is a significant contribution from Saudi Arabia to the Islamic world. He noted that MWL is dedicated to serving both the Quran and the Sunnah. The league's mission includes education and guidance, encouraging contemplation and adherence to Quranic teachings.

Al-Issa stated, "MWL is one of the virtuous contributions from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Islamic world." He emphasised that MWL takes on a significant responsibility in promoting education and guidance through this competition.

The competition serves several purposes: introducing Quran recitations, encouraging experts in memorising the Quran to study its recitation science, fostering fair competition among them, motivating and honouring participants, promoting adherence to Quranic morals, and preparing a capable generation of expert memorizers.

Attendees included accredited experts in Quran memorisation from around the globe and notable African scholars. These experts specialise in the ten recitations, ensuring high standards for participants.
