Muslim World League Endorses Saudi Ruling On Mandatory Hajj Permits

In a significant development from Makkah, the Muslim World League (MWL) has expressed its support for a new legal ruling by the Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia. This ruling, grounded in Sharia law, deems performing Hajj without an official permit as a sinful act. This decision underscores the importance of maintaining order and ensuring the safety and well-being of pilgrims during the sacred journey.

MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, highlighted the ruling's role in providing a Sharia-based framework to curb individual actions that could potentially harm pilgrims or impose additional burdens on the authorities. These authorities exert considerable effort and allocate extensive resources to facilitate the highest service levels for those undertaking the pilgrimage.

MWL Backs Hajj Permit Ruling

Sheikh Al-Issa emphasized the critical need for pilgrims to adhere strictly to Hajj procedures designed with their safety in mind. He pointed out that these measures also aim to ensure fairness by giving all Muslims an equal opportunity to perform Hajj, considering the limited capacity of the holy sites.

Expressing his gratitude towards the Saudi government, Sheikh Al-Issa lauded the efforts of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud for their dedication to enhancing the Hajj experience. Their leadership has been pivotal in ensuring that pilgrims can perform their rituals in an environment marked by ease and tranquility.

This ruling not only reinforces the sanctity of the Hajj but also reflects the Kingdom's commitment to upholding Islamic principles while managing one of the most significant religious gatherings in the Muslim world. The emphasis on compliance with official procedures underscores a broader initiative to safeguard pilgrims and ensure that the spiritual journey of Hajj remains a fulfilling experience for all attendees.
