Makkah Hosts MWL Conference To Promote Unity Across Islamic Sects
Under the esteemed patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Makkah is set to host a significant conference tomorrow, titled "Building Bridges Between Islamic Sects." This event, organized by the Muslim World League (MWL), aims to enhance understanding and cooperation among various Islamic sects. It will be attended by notable Islamic figures, including muftis and senior scholars representing diverse schools of thought within Islam. The conference's primary objective is to foster dialogue and collaboration to strengthen relations between different Islamic sects and address issues requiring a unified Islamic stance.
The gathering will tackle the critical challenge of countering sectarian extremism, which has contributed to conflicts and tarnished Islam's image globally. Participants are expected to engage in respectful dialogue, emphasizing the importance of refraining from insults or disdain towards any Islamic sect. A key outcome of the conference will be the development of a "Document for Building Bridges between Islamic Sects," aimed at promoting greater Islamic awareness on various scholarly topics discussed during the event.

The MWL acknowledges its crucial role in bringing together Islamic scholars to work towards unity based on shared Islamic values. Dr. Muhammad Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, expressed profound gratitude to King Salman and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for their generous support of this pivotal conference. He also sought blessings for their continued efforts in serving Islam and Muslims worldwide.
This landmark conference not only aims to bridge gaps between Islamic sects but also seeks to create a roadmap for future collaboration and understanding. By focusing on respectful dialogue and addressing key issues from a unified perspective, it represents a significant step towards fostering peace and cooperation within the Muslim world.
