Muslim Council Of Elders Endorses Recommendations From Emergency Arab Summit On Palestine

The Muslim Council of Elders, led by His Eminence Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, has expressed approval for the outcomes of the emergency Arab summit held in Egypt. This Summit for Palestine endorsed Egypt's plan to rebuild Gaza without displacing its residents or compromising the core principles of the Palestinian cause.

Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, voiced support for the summit's final communiqué. The resolutions reaffirm that the Palestinian issue remains central to the Arab world and all peace-seeking nations. The statement opposes any attempts to undermine Palestinian rights and supports efforts to uphold a ceasefire leading to a permanent cessation of hostilities.

Council Supports Arab Summit Outcomes for Palestine

The Council emphasises the importance of allowing unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. It also stresses finding a fair solution to the Palestinian issue. The summit's recommendations include full implementation of Lebanon's ceasefire agreement and demand Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon to internationally recognised borders, supporting Lebanon's security and sovereignty.

The Council strongly condemns Israeli attacks on Syria and urges international bodies like the United Nations Security Council to enforce international law. They call for immediate action to stop Israel's aggression and ensure withdrawal from all occupied Syrian territories.

The Muslim Council of Elders reiterates its backing for Arab and Muslim nations' efforts towards a just resolution for Palestinians. This includes recognising their right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Council firmly rejects any attempts at forcibly displacing Palestinians under any pretext or justification.

The ongoing suffering of Palestinians, lasting over 70 years, must end as a crucial step towards achieving peace and stability in both the region and globally. The Council views this as essential for fostering long-term harmony.
