The Muslim Council of Elders is taking part in the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 at Expo Centre Sharjah from 5th to 16th November. This participation aligns with their mission to foster dialogue, promote peace, and instil values of coexistence among different religions and cultures globally.
The Council's pavilion this year boasts an impressive array of over 250 intellectual and cultural publications in more than five languages. Among these are over 30 works by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders. Notable titles include 'Al-Qawl Al-Tayyib', 'Manners and Values', and 'From My Old Notebooks'. These works focus on Islamic tolerance, religious extremism, peace, East-West dialogue, and various jurisprudential matters.

In addition to Dr. Al-Tayeb's works, the pavilion features significant publications by other Council members and renowned thinkers. Key titles include 'Love in the Holy Quran' by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad; 'The Pope and the Grand Imam: A Thorny Path' by Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam; 'Rules of Understanding and Mutual Comprehension from Thought and Language' by Dr. Mustafa Benhamza; 'Muslims at the Crossroads' by Dr. Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzuq; and 'Problems of the Ummah’s Division into Sunnis and Shiites: Roots and Solutions' by Dr. Elias Belka.
The Council plans to host a variety of cultural and intellectual events during the fair. These events aim to encourage a culture of dialogue and openness. Presentations will feature recent publications from Al-Hokamaa Publishing that underscore the Council’s global initiatives in peacebuilding and interfaith dialogue.
The Muslim Council of Elders’ involvement in the Sharjah International Book Fair reflects its dedication to engaging in intellectual forums actively. The goal is to enhance the cultural role of moderate Islamic institutions, spread messages of moderation and tolerance, promote dialogue, understanding, and support scholars’ contributions towards building peaceful societies worldwide.
This engagement underscores their commitment to fostering a more aware, harmonious world through scholarly contributions. By participating in such events, they aim to activate scholars' roles in creating societies that value peace and harmony across diverse cultures.
