Muslim Council Of Elders Promotes Peace At Rabat International Book Fair
The Muslim Council of Elders has marked its presence at the 29th International Publishing and Book Fair in Rabat, Morocco, underscoring its ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence through literature. The event, which opened its doors today and will continue until May 19th, serves as a platform for the Council to exhibit its extensive collection of publications. This year, attendees have the opportunity to explore over 220 works in five different languages, showcasing the depth and diversity of Islamic thought and heritage.
Among the highlighted contributions are more than 30 publications by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders. His works play a significant role in promoting the values of tolerance inherent in Islamic culture. Other notable publications featured at the fair include "Basis of Understanding from Thought and Language" by His Eminence Dr. Mustapha Benhamza and "The Pope and the Grand Imam: A Thorny Path" by Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders. Additionally, "Muslims at a Crossroads" by Dr. Mahmoud Hamdi Zakzouk offers insights into critical issues facing the Muslim community today.

The Council's pavilion is not only a hub for literary exploration but also a venue for intellectual exchange. Throughout the fair, it will host a series of seminars, dialogues, and discussions led by a distinguished lineup of scholars, thinkers, writers, intellectuals, academics, and university professors. These sessions aim to address key intellectual, cultural, and Islamic topics, furthering the Council's mission of promoting peace and understanding.
This participation follows closely on the heels of the Council's involvement in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which concluded on May 5th. The pavilion there attracted considerable interest from intellectuals, religious leaders, and participants from the Emerging Peacemakers Forum, highlighting the Council's influential role in international literary and cultural circles.
The Muslim Council of Elders' active engagement in these international book fairs underscores its dedication to enriching global dialogue on peace, tolerance, and coexistence. Through its publications and participation in such events, the Council continues to contribute significantly to fostering understanding across diverse communities worldwide.
