Muslim Council Of Elders Achieves Remarkable Success At New Delhi World Book Fair
The Muslim Council of Elders (MCE) recently concluded its successful participation at the New Delhi World Book Fair, which took place from February 10th to 18th. The event saw a significant turnout from various segments of Indian society, who lauded the MCE's cultural events and the diverse range of intellectual publications on offer. Over 220 publications covering Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), Prophetic biography, Islamic sciences, and literature were presented in five languages: Arabic, English, Hindi, Urdu, and Malayalam.
Publications by His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, garnered particular attention. Available in the aforementioned five languages, his works attracted students of Islamic studies from New Delhi universities, alongside professors and researchers. Notable titles included "For Peace," "The Concept of Jihad in Islam," "A Message to the Youth," "Al-Azhar and the Unity of Muslims," "A Conversation on Peace," and "A Perspective on the Dialogue between East and West."

Among the standout publications at the MCE stand were "Islam and Good Governance" in its English edition by Professor Muqtedar Khan from the University of Delaware, USA, and "The Grand Imam and the Pope: A Thorny Path: A Testimony to the Birth of the Human Fraternity Document" by Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders. These works were showcased in five languages. Additionally, "Love in the Holy Quran" by HRH Prince Ghazi bin Al-Hashemi, a member of the Muslim Council of Elders, was highly sought after.
The seminars organized by the Council featured distinguished speakers from major Indian religions and denominations. Experts discussed peaceful coexistence and human fraternity, covering topics such as the teachings of religions in fostering tolerance, ways to achieve respect among religions, the significance of the Document on Human Fraternity in nation-building, and challenges in promoting human fraternity across communities and nations.
This year marked the second consecutive participation of the Muslim Council of Elders at the New Delhi World Book Fair. The Council's debut in 2023 was met with enthusiasm from the Indian community, who actively engaged with its publications and cultural events aimed at promoting dialogue, tolerance, and mutual coexistence.
