Museums Commission Unveils 'Telling Tomorrow's Story' Campaign To Highlight Cultural Importance

The Museums Commission has introduced the "Telling Tomorrow’s Story" campaign. This initiative aims to highlight the importance of museums in preserving history and cultural heritage, enhancing national identity, and encouraging innovative expression. The campaign's motto reflects a vision focused on innovation, safeguarding cultural treasures, and nurturing creativity for future generations.

Through this campaign, museums are portrayed as places where history is preserved and the future is shaped. The campaign features digital content showcasing various museums and cultural centres under the Commission's jurisdiction. These include the National Museum, Al-Masmak Palace Museum, Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art at Jax (SAMoCA@Jax), Diriyah Art Futures (DAF) in Riyadh, and the Tariq Abdulhakim Museum in Jeddah.

Museums Commission Launches Cultural Awareness Campaign

The campaign also introduces upcoming museums that will enhance Saudi Arabia's cultural scene. Notable among these are the Black Gold Museum in Riyadh and the Red Sea Museum in Jeddah. Additionally, efforts are underway to develop museums across 11 regions: Al-Qassim, Al-Jouf, Aseer, Tabuk, Hail, Najran, Arar, Dammam, Makkah, Jazan, and Al-Baha.

These regional museums will operate under the theme "Our Saudi Story." They aim to celebrate the diverse cultural elements that form Saudi history and identity. By doing so, they weave a narrative of the Kingdom's rich historical tapestry. Besides permanent collections, these museums will host temporary exhibitions and educational programs.

The "Telling Tomorrow’s Story" motto underscores a commitment to sustainability by documenting cultural heritage for future generations. It also involves integrating eco-friendly practices into museum design and operations. The Museums Commission envisions these spaces as gateways to Saudi Arabia's past, present, and future stories.
