Urban Future Week To Explore Sustainable Urban Planning At Museum Of The Future In November 2025
The Museum of the Future, in partnership with Dubai Municipality, will host 'Urban Future Week' on 10–11 November 2025. This event will gather global experts, thinkers, and decision-makers to discuss the future of urban environments. The focus will be on how urban planning can adapt to technological advancements, climate challenges, and social changes while developing actionable strategies for future cities.
Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, remarked, "The organising of Urban Future Week comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global hub for shaping the future of governance and innovation in the urban sector, particularly in light of the rapid transformations the world is witnessing, which call for rethinking how cities are designed, managed and how to best enhance their adaptability."

The programme will highlight the 'Hewi Dubai' initiative, which aims to create inclusive urban spaces centred around people. This project includes areas designed to enhance social values and community bonds while preserving cultural traditions. It also integrates sustainable agriculture by allocating space for local plant cultivation, showcasing a vision for vibrant and environmentally connected cities.
Urban Future Week will delve into key themes influencing tomorrow's cities. Topics include future readiness and urban resilience amidst global technological, climatic, and social shifts. The development of digital infrastructure and emerging urban projects will also be explored. The programme will examine how future communities can evolve by improving quality of life and fostering sustainability.
This strategic platform will feature over 40 speakers from local and international organisations. More than 1,000 participants worldwide are expected to attend. The event includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive dialogues, and exhibitions showcasing innovations in sustainability and urban design. These activities reinforce Dubai’s role as a hub for future foresight and applied innovation.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, stated that hosting this dialogue at the Museum of the Future reflects Dubai's pioneering role in building resilient cities. He said it provides a platform for knowledge exchange and practical solutions that harness future technologies to meet coming generations' aspirations.
