Saudi Arabia: Domestic Workers Are Eligible For Alternative Compensatory Visa Under 5 New Conditions
Musaned recently outlined specific criteria for issuing an alternative compensatory visa should a domestic worker opt to leave the Kingdom permanently within 90 days of their arrival. Key stipulations include the requirement that the domestic worker must be deported during the 90-day probation period as mandated by the system.
The Musaned platform, launched in 2016 under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, serves as the official channel for household services and the home employment program in the Kingdom.
This initiative aims to refine the recruitment sector, offering a range of services designed to enhance the recruitment process. Furthermore, it plays a crucial role in mediating disputes between employers and employees while safeguarding their rights, clearly delineating the responsibilities and entitlements of both parties.
Additionally, the issuance of this alternative visa must not cause the employer to exceed the system's cap on visa allotments.
Another requirement is that the visa must be issued within two years following the worker's departure, with the worker's status marked as 'final exit' in the Absher system and their travel status recorded as 'outside the Kingdom.' It's important to note that this visa serves as compensation for an original visa, not as a substitute for another compensatory visa.
For whom the alternative compensatory visa is applicable is also clarified by Musaned, highlighting eligible roles including domestic worker, female domestic worker, and private driver. Employers seeking to obtain this visa for their workers can do so by accessing their personal account on the Musaned platform.
The Musaned platform's recent disclosure on the alternative compensatory visa issuance conditions is a testament to its commitment to streamlining domestic worker recruitment while ensuring fairness and transparency.
By setting clear parameters and offering a straightforward process for visa issuance, Musaned continues to support the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development's goal of enhancing the recruitment sector in the Kingdom.
