Municipalities And Housing Ministry Ensures Readiness For Hajj 1446 AH Pilgrims With Comprehensive Services
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has announced its comprehensive preparations for the 1446 AH Hajj season. This initiative involves the Holy Makkah Municipality and other supporting municipalities. The ministry's goal is to ensure seamless services for pilgrims within a safe environment, employing an integrated operational system that covers service, monitoring, health, and field aspects, alongside support and emergency response centers.
To meet the demands of the Hajj season, the ministry has mobilised significant resources. The operational plan includes over 2,800 heavy vehicles and machines. More than 22,000 personnel from various technical and supervisory fields are involved, with over 14,000 dedicated to sanitation services. Additionally, there are more than 87,000 waste containers, 1,235 electric waste compactors with a capacity of up to 10 tons each, and 118 underground storage units.

Preparations also feature 177 shelter halls capable of accommodating up to 15,300 pilgrims. A central food safety laboratory can process over 700 samples daily. This is supported by four mobile labs with a capacity of 200 samples each per day. These facilities ensure that food safety standards are maintained throughout the Hajj period.
Modern technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) have been incorporated into the operations at holy sites to streamline procedures and deliver efficient services. The ministry has established 28 municipal service centres across key locations: 22 in Mina, three in Muzdalifah, and three in Arafat. These centres ensure comprehensive coverage during the pilgrimage.
The ministry also promotes volunteer efforts through various tracks such as public sanitation, monitoring, food preservation, honouring the deceased, among others. These initiatives are part of the Holy Makkah Municipality's commitment to enhancing service delivery during Hajj.
Coordination Centres for Rapid Response
A dedicated municipal services operations centre -- number 940 -- has been assigned alongside a joint operations centre -- number 911 -- to ensure rapid response and effective coordination during Hajj. These centres play a crucial role in managing emergencies and providing timely assistance to pilgrims.
The ministry continues implementing its operational and field plan to improve infrastructure efficiency and service facilities. This includes sanitation and health monitoring enhancements while applying technological solutions that enable immediate multilingual service delivery at holy sites.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing remains committed to ensuring a successful Hajj season by providing necessary resources and capabilities. Through meticulous planning and integration of modern technologies, they aim to offer pilgrims a safe and seamless experience during their spiritual journey.
