Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Draw Features Jabeur Vs Ostapenko And Raducanu Vs Vondrousova Matches

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has returned, offering top-tier tennis and entertainment. Qualifying rounds saw victories for Sofia Kenin, Cristina Bucsa, and 17-year-old Wakana Sonobe. The Main Draw ceremony promises exciting matches, including Ons Jabeur against Jelena Ostapenko and Emma Raducanu facing Marketa Vondrousova. This WTA 500 event at the International Tennis Centre in Zayed Sports City will conclude on Saturday, February 8.

American Sofia Kenin, the 2020 Australian Open champion, triumphed over Japan's Aoi Ito. She won a tight first set via tie-break before securing a 7-6, 6-2 victory. Cristina Bucsa staged a comeback from a set down to defeat Kamilla Rakhimova 5-7, 7-6, 6-3 in one of the day's thrilling matches.

Exciting Matches at Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open

In other matches, Heather Watson faced an early exit against Katie Volynets with scores of 6-4, 6-3. However, Sonay Kartal made an impressive comeback against Chloe Paquet, overturning a one-set deficit to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Meanwhile, Wakana Sonobe defeated Hailey Baptiste with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-1.

Teodora Kostovic and Renata Zarazua advanced due to walkovers after Diane Parry and Ysaline Bonaventure withdrew because of injuries. Veronika Kudermetova and McCartney Kessler also secured straight-set victories in their respective matches.

The Main Draw Ceremony was held at the expanded Mubadala Tennis Village. This year it spans 15,000 square metres—twice its previous size—offering fans intriguing matchups to anticipate. Three-time Grand Slam finalist Jabeur will face Ostapenko, who won the French Open in 2017 and the US Open doubles title in 2024.

Emma Raducanu is set to compete against Marketa Vondrousova, the Wimbledon champion of 2023. In other Main Draw matches starting Monday, Belinda Bencic will play Rebecca Šramková. Polina Kudermetova faces Liudmila Samsonova while Caroline Garcia takes on Lulu Sun.
