MRO Middle East and AIME 2025 Showcase Aerospace Growth

During a discussion on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Brian Long from Boeing emphasised the importance of scaling SAF sustainably. He stated, "Scaling SAF is essential, but it must remain truly sustainable. The biggest challenge is building the ecosystem—reducing costs, increasing production, and ensuring airlines procure SAF despite its significantly higher cost compared to conventional fuel."

A panel titled ‘The Future of MRO in the Middle East’ featured insights from industry leaders like Marcel Gerth-Noritzsch of SANAD and Natalie Stone of GE Aerospace. Marcel Gerth-Noritzsch noted that the region could become a leading aviation hub through collaboration among airlines, OEMs, MROs, and regulators. He stressed the importance of strengthening local supply chains and investing in future aviation professionals.

In another session focused on cabin design innovation, Dr. Davinder Surah highlighted sustainability's role in aircraft interiors. He remarked that "Circular aviation plays a crucial role in maximising the value of aircraft parts throughout their lifecycle." This approach not only enhances efficiency but also impacts costs by encouraging new material development and resource utilisation.
