MRO Middle East And AIME 2024 Conclude With Record-Breaking Attendance And Deals
The MRO Middle East and Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) 2024 events have successfully concluded, setting a new benchmark as the largest edition ever held. The events, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), attracted unprecedented attention with over 8,000 attendees from 95 countries, showcasing 250 exhibitors and engaging 120 airlines in meaningful discussions and deals.
Among the significant developments, flyadeal announced a long-term agreement with Safran Nacelles for comprehensive support of Nacelles for its Airbus A320neo family fleet. Similarly, Saudia Technic revealed a new service centre agreement with Airbus Helicopters. In a move to enhance aviation technology, Airbus and Beond disclosed a new collaboration powered by Airbus’ Skywise Health Monitoring platform. Additionally, Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub is set to expand with a new facility in Dubai South, thanks to an agreement with ATS Technic. Bossard Aerospace also confirmed the renewal of its support agreement with Joramco, underscoring the event's role as a catalyst for strategic partnerships.

The event featured thought-provoking conference sessions at the Go Live! Theatre and the On Board Hub. A notable session on MRO discussed the challenges of integrating alternative parts into the supply chain, highlighting contractual constraints as a major hurdle. Jim O’Sullivan from HEICO emphasized the need for dialogue between lessors and lawyers to find mutually beneficial solutions. Ahmad Rajei from Etihad Airways Engineering pointed out the importance of balancing operational demands with safety concerns to enhance the use of alternative parts.
Another session focused on the future of digitised and connected cabins, where Verena Bintaro from AERQ explored how open platforms could revolutionize passenger experiences by allowing third-party developers to create apps tailored to airline needs. This approach aims to make passengers' time on board more valuable and improve airline operations.
