Mother Of The Nation Exhibition Celebrates H.H. Sheikha Fatima's Vision For Women's Empowerment In New York

The UAE's Ministry of Interior has organised an exhibition titled "The Mother of the Nation" at the United Nations headquarters in New York. This event coincides with the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meeting from March 10 to March 21, 2025. It honours H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for her contributions to empowering Emirati women and promoting their advancement.

Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, through Paulina Brandberg, Sweden's Minister for Gender Equality and Working Life, addressed the opening. She highlighted that the exhibition reflects H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's lifelong achievements in advancing women's rights globally. The interconnectedness of women's and children's rights was also emphasised, with organisations like the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood leading efforts.

Her Majesty Azizah Aminah Maimunah Sultana of Pahang, Malaysia, delivered a recorded speech praising H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's pivotal role in empowering women worldwide. Her initiatives have enabled women to lead dignified lives and contribute to sustainable development. These efforts have equipped women with tools to participate actively in shaping future generations.

Ambassador Mohammed Abushahab, UAE's Permanent Representative to the UN, stressed the importance of women and girls in fostering a peaceful and prosperous world. He noted that since its inception, the UAE has implemented policies ensuring women's full participation across all fields. Guided by H.H.'s vision, Emirati women continue to break barriers and achieve remarkable success.

The exhibition highlights H.H.'s vision across various sectors such as economy, education, politics, culture, and sports. It celebrates Emirati women's achievements and success stories that inspire generations globally. As a unique event, it showcases Emirati women's pioneering role on an international stage while honouring H.H.'s unwavering support for women and families.

Reem Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the UAE Motherhood and Childhood Council, expressed gratitude for H.H.'s initiatives. She emphasised that history is engraved in hearts across generations due to H.H.'s leadership. Her efforts have laid foundations for progress seen today as Emirati women excel in politics, science, economics, and more.

Global Conversations on Empowerment

The exhibition features prominent figures from around the world discussing women's empowerment and their role in sustainable development. Attendees explore H.H.'s pioneering projects during CSW meetings. This platform enriches global conversations on family empowerment while showcasing Emirati women's leadership roles in diplomacy.

Minister Brandberg praised the UAE for hosting WeProtect Global Summit in Abu Dhabi focusing on digital safety using artificial intelligence to protect children. The World Childhood Foundation participated in this initiative highlighting UAE's leadership role in its success.

Reem Al Falasi highlighted H.H.'s founding of the General Women's Union in 1975 as a transformative moment for Emirati women becoming decision-makers shaping their futures. Today they lead governance efforts excel economically even reaching space fulfilling promises made paving paths for future generations.

This exhibition serves as a testament to Emirati women's ambition showcasing limitless potential urging continued pursuit towards gender equality empowerment globally reaffirming UAE's commitment collaborating with UN partners achieving these goals together.
