MoIAT Launches ITTI Use-Case Guide On Industrial Best Practices To Drive I4.0 Transformation

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has recently unveiled the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI) Use-Case Guide. This innovative resource is designed to offer manufacturers and key stakeholders valuable insights and recommendations on essential Industry 4.0 technologies and sustainability initiatives tailored for the UAE's industrial sectors. The guide, which is a result of comprehensive ITTI assessments, highlights over 90 high-impact use cases selected from a pool of more than 1,530 applications. These use cases represent a potential market opportunity worth AED1.5 billion across nine priority sectors, showcasing the latest trends in advanced technology within the UAE’s industrial landscape.

This initiative is a strategic component of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology "Operation 300Bn", aimed at fostering innovation through the accelerated adoption of advanced technology across the industrial value chain. It also seeks to support local industry growth and enhance global competitiveness. Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, emphasized the UAE leadership's vision of bolstering the industrial and technological sectors by creating an enabling ecosystem complete with a robust legal framework, competitive incentives, and investment opportunities.

Dr. Al Jaber further stated, "The ministry is dedicated to promoting AI application adoption in industry. We are thrilled to introduce the ITTI Use-Case Guide as a unique tool that aids UAE’s industrial leaders in developing strategies for rapid technological transformation and implementing Fourth Industrial Revolution solutions such as AI and IoT." Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, highlighted that over 92 percent of ITTI-assessed companies have embraced sustainability initiatives, with 32 percent of manufacturers integrating advanced Industry 4.0 use cases. This demonstrates a growing sector ripe with opportunities for SMEs to enhance performance and efficiency.

The ITTI Use-Case Guide was launched during a masterclass titled ‘The Innovation Imperative: Future-Proofing Your Manufacturing with Advanced Tech’, aimed at C-Suite leaders from the UAE’s largest industrial companies and SMEs, alongside tech providers and academia. The session focused on discussing top use cases, actionable strategies, problem-solving insights, and advanced technologies. It also addressed opportunities and challenges in integrating innovative use cases into operations.

Developed from detailed assessment reports, the guide outlines sector-specific Industry 4.0 use cases across 20 charters. It serves as a foundation for UAE manufacturers to drive digital transformation and tap into market opportunities. Highlighted use cases include ‘Predictive Maintenance for Shopfloor Machinery’ and ‘Automating Enterprise Processes Using RPAs’. Launched under the Technology Transformation Programme in February 2023, the ITTI aims to empower companies to kickstart or accelerate their digital transformations. It offers a comprehensive tool for measuring a plant's digital and sustainability maturity while providing a customized roadmap for smarter, more sustainable production. Developed in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), the index assesses Industry 4.0 and sustainability readiness to support decarbonisation efforts in alignment with the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative.
