MoHRE Calls On Private Sector To Achieve 2024 Emiratisation Targets By Year-End
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has called on private sector companies to meet their 2024 Emiratisation targets by 31st December. This requirement applies to firms with 50 or more employees, which must increase the Emiratisation of skilled roles by 2% by year-end. Certain establishments with 20-49 employees in rapidly growing sectors must hire at least one Emirati national and retain those employed before January 2024.
MoHRE expressed confidence in the awareness and compliance levels of private sector companies regarding Emiratisation policies. Over 124,000 Emirati nationals are now employed across 23,000 private firms, reflecting unprecedented adherence. The Ministry is committed to sustaining these successes in line with the UAE's strategic goals for economic growth and development.

The Ministry encourages companies to use the Nafis programme to connect with Emiratis seeking jobs in various fields. It stresses the importance of registering employed Emiratis in pension and social security systems and ensuring salary transfers through the Wage Protection System (WPS). This ensures transparency and compliance with employment regulations.
MoHRE continues to offer benefits to members of the Tawteen Partners Club. These include financial discounts of up to 80% on ministry service fees and priority access in government procurement, enhancing business growth opportunities. Such incentives aim to motivate companies to meet their Emiratisation targets effectively.
The Ministry has a robust monitoring system to detect fraudulent practices like fake Emiratisation attempts. Companies found violating policies face legal actions, including downgrading within the establishment classification system and court referrals. They must rectify their situations promptly or face further consequences.
Non-compliant companies incur financial penalties of AED96,000 for each unfulfilled Emiratisation target per Emirati national not hired. This measure ensures accountability and encourages adherence to set targets, reinforcing the importance of genuine efforts towards employing Emirati nationals.
Guidance for Job Seekers
MoHRE advises Emirati job seekers to verify job offers' legitimacy and avoid fraudulent practices or fake Emiratisation schemes. Maintaining access to Nafis’ benefits requires adherence to these guidelines. The Ministry also urges individuals to report any negative practices contradicting Emiratisation policies via its call centre or online platforms.
The Ministry remains dedicated to achieving its goals through collaboration with private sector entities. By fostering a supportive environment for both employers and job seekers, MoHRE aims to enhance employment opportunities for UAE nationals while contributing significantly to the nation's economic objectives.
