MoHRE Launches 'Train The Trainer' Programme To Enhance Nanny Skills Across UAE
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has introduced the "Train the Trainer" programme. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of nannies working at Domestic Worker Recruitment Offices across the UAE. Accredited trainers and specialists from Sharjah's Child Safety Department oversee this programme, ensuring that participants receive high-quality training.
The first phase took place in Dubai, targeting around 300 trainers from all 135 licensed recruitment offices nationwide. The programme is part of MoHRE’s efforts to regulate these offices' operations, improve institutional capacity, and update trainers on modern child protection standards. It equips trainers with the knowledge needed to instruct nannies effectively in childcare and safety practices.

This initiative underscores the UAE's dedication to children's welfare by integrating federal and local entities to provide exceptional services for children. It aims to reinforce child protection standards across various settings, establishing a comprehensive model aligned with the UAE Government’s approach to child safety.
Collaboration with Child Safety Department
MoHRE collaborates with the Child Safety Department, building on their partnership through initiatives like publishing the Domestic Workers Guide and conducting training workshops nationwide. These workshops cover child safety in vehicles, homes, public spaces, and digital environments.
Participants learn to identify and prevent child abuse while understanding how to report incidents via the child helpline (800700). They also receive information about Wadeema’s Law, which outlines provisions and penalties related to child rights violations. This comprehensive training ensures that nannies are well-prepared to safeguard children under their care.
By enhancing trainers' competencies and raising awareness of legal frameworks governing domestic work, MoHRE supports national efforts to improve child protection and welfare. The "Train the Trainer" programme reflects a commitment to children's wellbeing, aiming for a safer environment for all children in the UAE.
