MoHRE Takes Action Against 22 Domestic Worker Recruitment Offices For Violations In February

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) recently took action against 22 domestic worker recruitment offices for 37 violations. These breaches involved not refunding recruitment fees to employers within the required two-week timeframe. This period starts when a domestic worker is returned to the office or reported as having stopped working.

MoHRE emphasised its commitment to enforcing regulations on recruitment offices. The Ministry warned that non-compliance could lead to severe consequences, including licence cancellations for serious offences. They highlighted their effective monitoring system, which ensures offices meet legal standards and protect all parties' rights in employment relationships.

The Ministry also praised compliant offices for delivering quality services. Employers are encouraged to report any violations by recruitment offices through digital platforms or by contacting the Labour Consultation and Claims Centre at 80084. This initiative aims to maintain high service standards across the sector.

MoHRE cautioned against using unlicensed recruitment offices or unreliable social media platforms for hiring domestic workers. Engaging with such entities might result in losing legal rights, which are only guaranteed when dealing with Ministry-approved licensed offices. A comprehensive list of licensed Domestic Worker Recruitment Offices in the UAE is accessible on the Ministry's website.

In January 2025, similar actions were taken against 14 agencies, citing 22 violations and implementing necessary measures. This consistent enforcement underscores MoHRE's dedication to upholding legal standards in domestic worker recruitment, ensuring fair practices and protection for all involved parties.

The Ministry remains vigilant in its oversight role, striving to ensure that all recruitment offices adhere to established laws and provide satisfactory services. By maintaining strict regulatory measures, MoHRE aims to foster a transparent and reliable environment for both employers and domestic workers in the UAE.
