Emiratisation Target For Private Sector: MoHRE To Start Imposing Fines Starting July 1
Starting from July 1, UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) will assess companies' compliance levels concerning their targets before imposing financial contributions on non-compliant establishments.
The MoHRE has set June 30 as the final date for achieving Emiratisation targets for the first half of 2024. The objectives include a 1% increase in UAE citizens employed in skilled positions at companies with at least 50 employees, in line with the Council of Ministers' decisions.

The ministry praised businesses that have met the required growth and stressed the importance of enrolling Emirati citizens in a pension fund and the Wage Protection System (WPS). It also urged these companies to maintain their growth rates by June 30.
MoHRE expressed confidence in businesses' ability to meet their commitments, given the rapid economic growth across all sectors in the UAE. The ministry highlighted that employing UAE citizens in private sector jobs has significantly benefited the business sector.
Additionally, MoHRE encouraged companies that have not yet reached their targets to utilise the Nafis Programme's digital platform. This platform provides access to a vast pool of qualified Emirati job seekers with various specialisations.
