MoHRE Conducts 285,000 Inspection Visits In Early 2025, Identifying Over 5,400 Violations

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) carried out around 285,000 inspections of registered businesses in the first half of 2025. These inspections uncovered violations in over 5,400 establishments. This initiative is part of MoHRE's ongoing efforts to improve labour market regulation and enhance its competitiveness and efficiency.

MoHRE has taken legal and administrative actions against these non-compliant establishments. Some cases were referred to the Public Prosecution due to the severity of violations. Issues identified included non-payment of wages, 'Fake Emiratisation' schemes, and registering workers without genuine employment relationships.

The Ministry's field and digital monitoring system played a crucial role in identifying these violations. This system provides comprehensive information about an establishment’s status, enabling efficient enforcement by trained inspection teams. The system is a key component in ensuring compliance with labour market laws.

MoHRE emphasised that their inspection system is enhanced by adopting cutting-edge technological solutions. These innovations ensure high standards of efficiency and integrity in inspection operations. The system uses integrated tools designed to meet the evolving needs of the labour market.

To maintain competitiveness, MoHRE supports its inspection sector with skilled inspectors who receive regular training. They are updated on global best practices in labour inspection. This approach ensures inspectors are well-equipped to handle various challenges in the field.

The Ministry's electronic inspection system, unique in the region, adds significant value through its risk matrix feature. This tool helps identify potential risks within companies, allowing for proactive measures to be taken.

Proactive Services and Partnerships

Innovative tools from MoHRE include proactive services like self-assessment features on their smart app for employers. These tools also aim to raise awareness as part of MoHRE’s comprehensive strategy for implementing labour policies effectively.

The Ministry fosters partnerships with private-sector companies while strengthening ties with government entities. Joint inspection campaigns are conducted, and platforms are provided for community members to report negative practices confidentially.

This strategic approach ensures that complaints are addressed seriously while maintaining privacy standards. Through these efforts, MoHRE aims to create a fairer and more competitive labour market environment in the UAE.
