MoHESR And DEWA Join Forces To Enhance Scholarship Programme For Emirati Students Aligned With National Priorities

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has teamed up with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to enhance the scholarship programme for Emirati students. This partnership aims to align educational opportunities with national priorities, ensuring students gain essential skills for the labour market.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, signed the agreement alongside Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA. The signing took place at DEWA’s headquarters in Dubai, witnessed by senior officials from both organisations.

MoHESR and DEWA Enhance Emirati Scholarship Programme

The collaboration focuses on providing high-quality education in crucial sectors, facilitating a smooth transition from education to employment. It aims to align workforce needs with the scholarship programme while strengthening partnerships between government entities, employers, and higher education institutions to boost job prospects for students.

Dr. Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar stated, "This agreement marks a significant step in preparing Emirati youth for global labour market shifts by enabling advanced education at top international universities, aligned with national business needs. Our partnership with DEWA will strengthen our national talent pool, enhance the UAE’s global competitiveness, and support sustainable development."

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer expressed pride in cooperating with MoHESR on this initiative. He said: "In line with the vision and directives of the wise leadership, DEWA adopts a clear strategy for the development and training of national cadres. At DEWA, we are proud to cooperate with MoHESR in this ambitious initiative, which aims to build a generation of national competencies specialised in vital fields."
