MoHAP Urges Hajj Pilgrims To Get Flu Vaccination, Follow Health Guidelines
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has urged all pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj to receive the flu vaccination and other necessary immunisations. MoHAP recommends taking all required doses at least 15 days before departure to ensure the vaccine's effectiveness and provide adequate immunity.
Pilgrims are also advised to ensure their vaccinations are recorded on the international vaccination card by accredited health centres. Following all instructions and precautions before and during travel is essential for safeguarding health.

In its commitment to protecting pilgrims from infectious diseases during Hajj and after their return, the Ministry emphasised that vaccination is mandatory. Pilgrims, especially those with chronic diseases, should visit health centres well before departure.
MoHAP also highlighted the importance of ensuring a sufficient supply of medications and taking all recommended immunisations available at approved health centres. Regular exercise is also advised for maintaining good health.
Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, stressed the importance of Emirati pilgrims receiving the flu shot as part of their health preparations for Hajj. This measure aims to protect their health and the community's safety from infectious diseases that may spread in large gatherings.
Dr. Nada Al Marzouqi, Director of the Department of Public Health and Prevention, emphasised that adhering to preventive measures is crucial to avoid health issues during Hajj. She advised pilgrims to take precautions against heat exhaustion and physical stress, which can increase susceptibility to illnesses.
Dietary Advice
Al Marzouqi also highlighted the importance of following a healthy and balanced diet. This helps preserve health and ensures that worshippers can comfortably and safely perform their rituals during Hajj.
