MoHAP And Supreme Council For Family Affairs Complete Three Phases Of Heat Exhaustion Campaign

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), alongside the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah, has successfully completed three phases of its 14th Heat Exhaustion and Disease Prevention Campaign. This initiative, running from July to August under the theme "Your Safety is Our Priority," aims to educate outdoor workers about heat stress dangers during summer, coinciding with the midday work ban.

The campaign has reached over 4,000 individuals across various locations, starting in Sharjah City and extending to Al Hamriyah and Al Dhaid. It included educational lectures on heat stress risks, symptoms, treatments, and best prevention practices. Additionally, free medical screenings were offered, and essential preventive supplies were distributed to workers.

Completion of Heat Exhaustion Campaign Phases

Field visits were conducted throughout Sharjah to educate construction workers on proper health practices during summer. These visits provided guidelines to help avoid heat stress risks. Employers at factories and construction sites were also engaged to emphasize the importance of protective measures for worker safety during high temperatures.

The campaign also targeted workers at fuel stations, public parks, parking facilities, and delivery services. They received vital information and preventive guidelines to reduce heat exhaustion risks. Educational activities for community members like housewives and university students were organized in collaboration with the Emirates Friends of Seniors’ Citizens Association and Al Qasimia University.

These activities aimed to highlight health protection during summer, promote healthy living culture, and encourage participants to share knowledge with domestic helpers. The campaign seeks to reach 10,000 workers as part of a national initiative focused on human well-being in community development aligned with "Year of Community 2025" goals.

Supporting National Health Efforts

This initiative supports national efforts to enhance public health by fostering cross-sector partnerships aimed at improving life quality across Sharjah. Mohammed Abdullah Al Zarooni from MoHAP’s Representative Office in Sharjah highlighted that this humanitarian campaign embodies social responsibility values by promoting health awareness among all society segments.

He emphasized that it supports government efforts to protect labour rights and ensure a healthy work environment according to WHO standards. The campaign aligns with the human-focused objectives of the Year of Community by prioritizing outdoor labourers' well-being through increased awareness initiatives.
