MoHAP Commemorates World Health Day 2025 With Focus On Maternal And Newborn Health
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has aligned with the global community to mark World Health Day 2025. This initiative underscores its dedication to enhancing maternal and newborn health within its national healthcare framework. The Ministry emphasises that this observance is part of its continuous mission to build a sustainable and inclusive health system, improving life quality for all societal segments.
This year's theme, "Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures," announced by the World Health Organisation, highlights the need to strengthen healthcare systems for women and children. It focuses on crucial periods such as pregnancy, childbirth, and early childhood. The Ministry's efforts are directed towards adopting top international standards in maternal and neonatal care.

Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, stated that MoHAP is committed to using advanced capabilities in line with guidelines from the World Health Organisation and UNICEF. These initiatives support the Sustainable Development Goals and align with UAE Centennial 2071, ensuring future generations have excellent health standards.
Al Rand highlighted that under wise leadership directives, the UAE prioritises mothers' and children's health within its development policies. He said, "Thanks to the directives of our wise leadership, the UAE government has made the health of mothers and children a top priority, embedding it at the core of its development policies."
The UAE views investing in their well-being as an investment in its future. Consequently, MoHAP leads national efforts to enhance public health for mothers and newborns. This involves ensuring access to preventive and integrated care through collaboration with strategic partners nationwide.
These initiatives are integral to supporting a sustainable, knowledge-driven nation. They ensure future generations are equipped with high health standards and readiness. By focusing on these areas, MoHAP aims to contribute significantly to national development goals while fostering a healthier society overall.
