Mohammed Bin Rashid Highlights UAE Defence Advancements During Visit To IDEX 2025 In Abu Dhabi
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, attended the 17th International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025) at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi. He emphasised the importance of strong defence capabilities for national security and stability, ensuring a promising future for future generations. His Highness noted the UAE's progress in defence industries, meeting military needs while boosting the economy through knowledge localisation and job creation.
His Highness welcomed global delegations and exhibitors, reaffirming the UAE's dedication to fostering partnerships and innovation across various fields. This commitment aims to achieve a secure and prosperous future for all. The UAE's defence sector has made significant advances, contributing to broader development efforts in strategic industries and enhancing the national economy.
IDEX serves as a crucial global platform for advancing defence technologies. His Highness highlighted the UAE's role as a hub for innovation, development, and strategic partnerships. By collaborating with international partners, the country seeks to enhance security, promote peace, and create sustainable development opportunities.
During his visit, His Highness reviewed IDEX’s largest edition yet. The exhibition attracted 1,565 companies from 65 countries, marking a 16% increase from the previous edition. The total exhibition area expanded by 10% to 181,501 square metres. Notably, 731 companies debuted at the event, an 82% surge.
The UAE’s expanded participation at IDEX strengthens its national defence sector and boosts Emirati companies' global competitiveness. His Highness explored several pavilions during his tour. At the Turkish pavilion, he examined advanced defence innovations like Otokar’s armoured vehicles. At EDGE pavilion, he reviewed their latest product portfolio featuring 46 new systems.
His Highness was accompanied by key officials including Mohammed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Staff Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei; and Major General Mubarak Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri during his tour of IDEX.

It brings together leading global defence companies to showcase cutting-edge military technologies including land and air combat systems along with advanced cybersecurity and artificial intelligence applications.
