Mohammed Bin Rashid Highlights Importance Of Gulfood 2025 For Global Food Trade And Partnerships
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recently attended Gulfood 2025. This event is the largest in its history, featuring 4,595 exhibitors from 106 countries. Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 17th to 21st February, it showcases the theme ‘The Next Frontier in Food’.
The exhibition serves as a significant platform for the global food and beverage community. It aims to enhance engagement and foster new business connections while acknowledging the industry's shift towards innovative development and trade practices. Sheikh Mohammed praised the event's growth, noting its importance in forming partnerships within this crucial sector.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s dedication to being a central player in global efforts to innovate solutions that enhance the food sector. He stressed the critical role of food security and sustainable development worldwide. The UAE aims to remain a hub for partnerships and knowledge exchange to address current needs and prepare for a prosperous future.
Dubai continues to be a place where ideas converge to tackle global challenges, driving innovations that improve quality of life universally. The exhibitions sector significantly contributes to achieving the ambitious goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to double foreign trade by 2033.
This year’s Gulfood edition focuses on strengthening trade relationships within the food and beverage manufacturing sector. It highlights sustained growth by fostering commercial connections across continents such as Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Major exhibitions hosted by Dubai offer ideal opportunities for exchanging ideas and building partnerships globally.
During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed toured various sections of the expansive exhibition with H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council. The exhibition spans nearly one million square feet across 24 halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
National Companies' Contributions
Sheikh Mohammed visited booths of national companies like Farzana and MGM, recognising their role in advancing the National Food Security Strategy 2051 objectives. He acknowledged their contributions towards enhancing food security through innovative products and operations.
Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed were Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority; Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Economy and Tourism in Dubai; and Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality.
The ongoing edition marks a milestone for Gulfood as it continues to attract leading companies worldwide. Over a million products are showcased under one roof in Dubai, reinforcing its position as a key platform for building partnerships within one of the most vital sectors globally.
