Mohammed Bin Rashid And Sri Lanka’s President Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties Through Innovation
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, engaged in discussions with Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of Sri Lanka. This meeting occurred on the second day of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025. The gathering was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The dialogue between H.H. Sheikh Mohammed and President Dissanayake focused on enhancing global governmental coordination. They emphasised the need for unified efforts to develop innovative solutions addressing economic and developmental challenges worldwide. The meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration in governance and strategic sectors.
During their conversation, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed praised Sri Lanka's dedication to building international partnerships and sharing expertise with leading global entities. He reiterated the UAE's commitment to advancing the significant progress made in recent years regarding their bilateral partnership. This commitment underscores the UAE's focus on fostering strong international relations.
President Dissanayake expressed gratitude towards the UAE for its support in developing key sectors within Sri Lanka. He noted substantial advancements in bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as investment, trade, and tourism. These developments reflect a growing partnership between the two nations.
The World Governments Summit 2025 has attracted over 30 heads of state and government along with more than 80 international organisations. It features participation from 140 government delegations worldwide. The summit's agenda includes 21 global forums that explore future trends and transformations across various sectors.
Additionally, WGS25 hosts over 200 interactive sessions featuring more than 300 speakers including presidents, ministers, experts, thought leaders, and decision-makers. More than 30 ministerial meetings and roundtables are attended by over 400 ministers during this event.
President Dissanayake commended WGS25 for its crucial role in fostering meaningful international partnerships. He acknowledged its contribution to advancing global governance practices while equipping decision-makers with insights needed to anticipate challenges and explore new opportunities.
Strategic Reports Publication
The summit will also see the release of 30 strategic reports developed in collaboration with international knowledge partners. These reports aim to provide valuable insights into major future trends and transformations affecting various sectors globally.
