Mohammed Bin Rashid Inspects Emirates’ New Airbus A350 At Dubai International Airport
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, recently visited Dubai International Airport. The purpose was to inspect Emirates' newest aircraft addition, the Airbus A350. Accompanying him were H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed examined the new aircraft's design and technology features. He received a briefing from H.H. Sheikh Ahmed on the A350's network plans and its role in Emirates' fleet expansion strategy. Discussions also covered future investments aimed at enhancing customer experiences and maintaining Emirates' leadership in air travel.
The Airbus A350 is designed with an eco-friendly structure that reduces fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Seventy percent of its airframe consists of advanced materials, including 53% composites that are lighter yet stronger than those used in older models. This innovation aligns with Emirates’ commitment to sustainability.
The A350 offers three cabin classes: Business Class with 32 lie-flat seats, Premium Economy with 21 seats, and Economy Class with 259 seats. This configuration allows the aircraft to accommodate a total of 312 passengers comfortably.
Sheikh Mohammed praised Emirates Airline for its outstanding performance under H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum’s leadership. He acknowledged the team's efforts in maintaining high standards in passenger service quality, comfort, and safety, which have positioned the airline among the top global competitors.
The UAE remains dedicated to enhancing its global competitiveness in aviation. His Highness highlighted Emirates' achievements in redefining passenger service and comfort as evidence of its capability to lead internationally.
Aviation's Role in Economic Growth
Aviation plays a crucial role in connecting global communities and fostering growth opportunities. The Emirates Group significantly contributes to Dubai’s economy by generating AED75 billion in GVA, accounting for 15% of the emirate’s GDP while employing 114,000 people.
Dubai aims to become a leading global destination for tourism, commerce, and investments through strategic aviation initiatives aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. The agenda seeks to expand Dubai's economic reach across more than 400 cities worldwide.
Future Prospects for Emirates
Emirates will be pivotal in achieving D33 goals by expanding its international network using aircraft like the A350. This expansion will open access to previously unreachable markets, supporting Dubai’s vision as a global business hub across various sectors and setting new standards for the global economy.
