Mohammed Bin Rashid Opens GITEX Global 2025, Showcasing AI And Digital Economy Innovations
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the 45th GITEX Global at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This event, showcasing technology and artificial intelligence, runs until 17th October. Accompanying him were several dignitaries including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed explored various pavilions displaying cutting-edge innovations in AI, cloud computing, quantum computing, and more. Major international companies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Huawei, IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle showcased their contributions to digital transformation in tech-driven sectors.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the UAE's commitment to building a digital economy through strategic investments in infrastructure and future industries. He stated that the UAE aims to be a global model for an integrated digital economy driven by innovation and AI. "We want the UAE to be a global model in building an integrated digital economy driven by innovation, knowledge and artificial intelligence," he said.
The event has attracted over 6,800 tech companies and 2,000 startups from 180 countries. It serves as a hub for technology pioneers to establish new partnerships that accelerate digital transformation and lay the groundwork for sustainable prosperity for future generations.
GITEX Global has evolved into a significant movement reflecting the UAE’s ambition to lead change and create strategic partnerships in the global digital economy. "GITEX has evolved beyond being a gathering of technology leaders from East and West—it has become a global movement," noted H.H. Sheikh Mohammed.
The event acts as a catalyst for innovation and investment by uniting government entities, innovation hubs, and startups showcasing AI-powered solutions that enhance economic diversification and strengthen the UAE’s competitiveness globally.
Exploring Innovations
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed visited several key pavilions at GITEX Global 2025 alongside H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. At the European Innovation Council pavilion, he learned about 15 leading companies exploring new partnerships through the event.
He also toured Cisco Systems, Huawei, and Siemens pavilions to see AI advancements shaping future industries. Additionally, he stopped at the e& pavilion to view technologies like flying cars and AI-powered autonomous vehicles.
Supporting National Strategies
The event supports national strategies such as the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, Dubai Blockchain Strategy, and UAE Vision 2031 by highlighting technology's role in driving economic progress. It continues to pave the way for digital transformation over the next decade regionally and globally.
