Mohammed Bin Rashid Opens Second Ordinary Session Of FNC's 18th Legislative Chapter With Emphasis On Leadership Support
The second ordinary session of the 18th legislative chapter of the Federal National Council (FNC) was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, as well as the Ruler of Dubai. This event was on behalf of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The ceremony saw attendance from notable figures including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, dignitaries, civic and military officials, and members of the diplomatic corps were also present.
The session commenced with a reading of Federal Decree No. 163 of 2024. This decree was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, calling for the FNC to convene on November 25, 2024. The decree marked the beginning of this important legislative term.
Saqr Ghobash, serving as the FNC Speaker, delivered a keynote address during the session. He expressed gratitude towards the leadership for their steadfast support of the FNC. Ghobash noted that this backing has been crucial in enabling council members to effectively carry out their duties.
Ghobash highlighted how leadership's commitment to empowering citizens is evident through initiatives like UAE Education Day. Celebrated annually on February 28, this day aims to promote excellence in future-focused fields. Such initiatives reflect a dedication to fostering growth and development among citizens.
He further emphasised that all authorities and institutions share a common goal: advancing the country's progress and ensuring citizens' welfare. This shared dedication underscores a collective effort towards national development and prosperity.
The FNC remains committed to fulfilling its constitutional and parliamentary duties in collaboration with the UAE government. This partnership is dedicated to serving both the nation and its leadership effectively. The council's role in assuming the Presidency of the Arab Parliament was also highlighted as a significant achievement.
