MBRHE Launches Maskani Initiative To Enhance Housing For People Of Determination At AccessAbilities Expo

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) has introduced the Maskani initiative, which includes a detailed Housing Preparation Guide for People of Determination. This was announced during the AccessAbilities Expo 2025. The guide is a significant step towards empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently in homes tailored to their needs.

The guide outlines inclusive design standards for accessible housing, aligning with both local and international best practices. It aims to assist engineers and designers in applying technical specifications that ensure safe, functional, and comfortable homes. By tailoring living spaces to daily needs across various disabilities, it seeks to enhance quality of life.

Addressing diverse categories of People of Determination, the guide offers practical solutions for physical, visual, auditory, and intellectual disabilities. It also caters to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), mental health challenges, learning difficulties, and communication disorders.

During the exhibition, MBRHE introduced its Smart Home Conversion Service for People of Determination. This innovative solution integrates smart systems and assistive technologies within homes. It allows residents to control their surroundings through advanced electronic systems and applications, enhancing independence and daily comfort.

MBRHE emphasised that the guide serves as a comprehensive national reference for human-centred and sustainable housing design. This further strengthens Dubai’s leadership in inclusive design and smart city development. The establishment's commitment to social inclusion and sustainable housing development in Dubai is evident through this initiative.

In addition to the guide, MBRHE is showcasing various digital services and smart initiatives. These allow customers, particularly People of Determination, to access housing services efficiently. Interactive displays at the expo present MBRHE’s latest housing projects, reflecting its dedication to social inclusion aligned with Dubai’s future vision.
