Mohammed Bin Rashid Highlights Strategic Partnerships As Key To UAE’s Sustainable Future
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, highlighted the UAE's focus on forming strategic alliances to foster global development. He expressed this during a meeting with Stephanie Pope, Executive Vice President of The Boeing Company and President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, at the Dubai Airshow.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid praised the UAE's growing partnerships with major global aviation companies, particularly its collaboration with Boeing. He described this relationship as a model for effective cooperation within the industry. The meeting also included H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who holds several key positions in Dubai's aviation sector.
The discussions covered the agreement between Emirates Airline and Boeing for 65 new Boeing 777-9 aircraft, valued at $38 billion. This deal increases Emirates' total orders with Boeing to 315 wide-body planes. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid welcomed this development as part of Dubai's ambition to set new standards in aviation excellence.
Boeing’s Executive Vice President expressed pride in the strategic partnership with the UAE, especially with Emirates Airline. She noted that Boeing’s participation in the 19th Dubai Airshow underscores its commitment to the region and its long-standing presence in key markets across the Middle East.
The meeting explored future enablers for aviation, such as artificial intelligence and sustainable technology. Discussions included electric and hybrid aircraft options and technologies to reduce environmental impact like smart fuel management systems. Opportunities in training, technology advancement, and research were also considered.
