Mohammed Bin Rashid Celebrates Graduation Of 244 Leaders From International Government Programmes
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, attended a graduation ceremony for 244 participants from 33 nations. These individuals completed 11 international government leadership programmes. Organised by the UAE Government, these initiatives demonstrate a commitment to global partnerships through the UAE Government Knowledge Exchange Programme.
The event took place during the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025 in Dubai, held from 11 to 13 February. The summit's theme was ‘Shaping Future Governments’. It attracted over 30 heads of state and government, more than 80 international organisations, 140 government delegations, and over 6,000 attendees.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasised that the World Governments Summit showcases the UAE’s dedication to boosting international collaboration and knowledge sharing. He stated: "The World Governments Summit serves as a global platform for shaping the future of governance and driving the prosperity of nations. In the UAE, we believe the future is a shared responsibility and a common ambition that unites humanity."
He further added: "Strengthening international cooperation and fostering strategic partnerships are fundamental to empowering governments to anticipate future challenges and seize emerging opportunities. This collaborative approach is key to advancing human progress and creating a better future for generations to come."
Sheikh Mohammed expressed pride in the accomplishments of the UAE Government Knowledge Exchange Programme. Launched at the World Governments Summit, it has expanded its influence globally. "We take great pride in the achievements of the UAE Government Knowledge Exchange Programme," he said.
"Today, we witness the tangible outcomes of these collaborative efforts through the graduation of distinguished government leaders from 33 countries," he noted. The programme aims to support governments worldwide by exchanging best practices and expertise.
Diverse Graduating Cohorts
The graduation ceremony marked several milestones with diverse cohorts completing their programmes. Among them were 17 participants from Bermuda’s Executive Leadership Programme and 24 from Malta’s Senior Executive Leadership Programme.
Additionally, there were graduates from Kyrgyzstan's Young Leaders Programme and Seychelles' Executive Leadership Programme second cohort. Kazakhstan's first cohort of Executive Leaders Programme also celebrated their completion alongside Maldives' first cohort.
Expanding Global Impact
The event also saw graduates from Ethiopia’s Executive Leadership Programme first cohort and Brunei’s Executive Leadership Programme. Uzbekistan had six participants completing its Strategic Leadership Programme while Colombia had 16 graduates from its Executive Leadership Programme.
Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, attended this significant ceremony. The event highlighted successful collaborations between various countries under different leadership programmes.
The ceremony underscored Sheikh Mohammed's vision for expanding these programmes’ reach globally. By fostering effective international partnerships through knowledge exchange, they aim to build innovative approaches contributing towards a better future for humanity.
