Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Highlights UAE's Role At Arabian Travel Market 2025

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, recently visited the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. He emphasised the UAE's dedication to fostering global opportunities and growth through meaningful partnerships and dialogue. This commitment aligns with the nation's foundational values aimed at enhancing global progress and improving lives worldwide.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that under President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's leadership, the UAE continues to invest in top-tier infrastructure to boost its economy and tourism sector. The country's airports are expected to handle approximately 150 million passengers this year. The participation of 166 countries and 55,000 professionals at ATM 2025 underscores the UAE's expanding influence in global tourism.

The tourism industry in the UAE saw remarkable growth, welcoming a record 30.7 million international visitors in 2024 with total spending reaching around AED250 billion. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed praised those who have bolstered the UAE’s status as a premier destination for opportunities. He noted that exhibitions like ATM are crucial for economic growth and fostering partnerships that benefit the global economy.

During his tour, His Highness was accompanied by several dignitaries including H.H. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; H.H Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority; and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee.

At the Emirates and flydubai pavilions, His Highness reviewed plans to enhance Dubai’s standing as a global aviation hub. Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, briefed him on efforts to strengthen budget aviation leading to record results in 2024, marking their best performance since inception 15 years ago.

He also visited the Emirates Tourism Council pavilion where Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Council, discussed initiatives to boost tourism competitiveness across all seven emirates in line with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision.

Global Participation at ATM 2025

The Arabian Travel Market 2025 brought together leaders from various sectors including leisure, business events, luxury travel, and corporate travel. It featured a record number of 2,800 exhibitors from 166 countries and anticipated welcoming around 55,000 attendees.

Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; and Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Almarri, Director-General of Dubai’s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs were also present during His Highness's tour.
