UAE Recognised As One Of The Top Three Investors In Belarusian Economy
The United Arab Emirates ranks among the top three investors in Belarus, as highlighted by Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He revealed that foreign direct investment in Belarus totalled USD 1.7 billion, with around USD 300 million originating from the UAE, according to 2024 data.
During the AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi, Meleshkin shared insights with the Emirates News Agency (WAM). He noted that this event marked the first time a Belarusian delegation participated in the summit. The presence of Belarusian companies attracted interest from UAE investors and other countries, showcasing Belarus' strong investment potential and growing appeal to international businesses.

Belarus is represented at the congress with a national pavilion featuring seven companies and a business delegation of ten firms. This includes representatives from free economic zones offering tax incentives like reduced profit tax rates for investors. These zones aim to attract more foreign investments by providing favourable conditions.
The participating companies cover key sectors such as information technology, retail, logistics, and consumer goods distribution. Information technology stands out as one of the fastest-growing industries both globally and within Belarus. This diverse representation highlights the country's broad economic capabilities.
Meleshkin pointed out Belarus' strategic logistical advantages due to its location at major transport corridors connecting the European Union and Russia. The country also benefits from the expanding North–South international transport corridor. Belarusian firms are prepared to offer infrastructure and services as a logistics hub for regional and transcontinental cargo flows.
The Deputy Chairman expressed optimism about Belarus’ ongoing participation in AIM events. He believes these forums are crucial for showcasing national capabilities and attracting further foreign investment. The regular presence at such events is expected to become a staple in Belarus' economic calendar.
Meleshkin concluded by emphasising that AIM serves as an essential platform for promoting national strengths and securing additional foreign investments. This engagement reflects Belarus' commitment to enhancing its global business relationships and economic growth prospects.
