Mohamed Bin Zayed University And King Salman Global Academy Announce Strategic Partnership For Arabic Language Advancement

The Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language. This agreement was signed during the academy's fourth annual international conference in Riyadh, themed "The Global Lexicography Industry: Experiences, Efforts, and Prospects." The UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Matar Salem Ali Maran Al Dhaheri, attended the ceremony.

Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, and Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of the academy, formalised the agreement. The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in promoting the Arabic language through joint scientific and academic efforts.

Strategic Partnership for Arabic Language Advancement

The partnership will facilitate joint research and publishing projects while broadening access to educational and technical resources from both institutions. This collaboration is expected to strengthen Arabic's presence in global academia by supporting various initiatives.

Key areas of focus include conducting joint research, exchanging scholarly publications, developing a unified index of scientific resources, and creating digital dictionaries. Additionally, advancing digital transformation and e-learning initiatives are part of the collaborative efforts.

The agreement also includes organising joint training programs and academic conferences. Providing linguistic consultation on mutual interests is another aspect of this partnership. These initiatives aim to bolster educational resources and foster greater collaboration between the two institutions.

Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri expressed that this partnership marks a significant milestone for Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities. It reflects their commitment to collaborating with leading academic centres dedicated to Arabic language scholarship.

Strengthening Global Standing

"This partnership provides a valuable opportunity to share expertise, develop collaborative research projects, build upon the academy's pioneering work in lexicography and artificial intelligence applications, and advance academic initiatives that strengthen the global standing of the Arabic language," Dr. Al Dhaheri added.

Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi highlighted that this memorandum opens new avenues for integration across linguistic, technical, and educational research domains. "This agreement inaugurates a phase of collaborative work that leverages our institutional expertise and expands the scope of international cooperation central to the Academy's strategic vision," Dr. Al-Washmi said.
