MOFA Opens Applications For The 2025 Scholarship Programme Supporting Emirati Students Abroad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is now accepting applications for its 2025 Scholarship Programme. This opportunity is available from May 1 to June 1. The programme is designed to support exceptional Emirati students in pursuing higher education at 60 top international universities, focusing on key diplomatic fields. The initiative aims to nurture national talent and prepare future diplomats to contribute effectively to the UAE's foreign policy and global presence.

Applicants must be UAE nationals with a valid passport, family book, and a certified good conduct certificate. Eligible candidates should be aged between 17 and 22 years. They need a minimum score of 80% in the Advanced and Elite secondary education streams or 90% in the General, Technical, and other curricula. Additionally, they must possess an English proficiency certificate with at least a 6.5 score in Academic IELTS or an equivalent TOEFL score.

The Scholarship Programme consists of three main stages. Initially, scholars complete their undergraduate studies abroad. Next, they enroll at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy for a specialised postgraduate diploma in diplomacy and international relations. Finally, after meeting graduation requirements, they are appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and join the diplomatic corps.

Successful candidates must commit to serving in the Ministry’s diplomatic corps for a period equal to their years of study. This ensures that the skills acquired during their education are utilised within the UAE's diplomatic framework.

This scholarship aligns with MOFA's vision of developing diplomatic expertise that adapts to global changes while enhancing the UAE’s international presence.
