UAE's MoFA And MOI Introduce Electronic Integration For Document Attestation And Criminal Record Services

The UAE's Ministry of Interior (MOI) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) have collaborated to integrate their services digitally. This initiative is part of the UAE's Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, aiming to simplify government processes. The integration connects MoFA's document attestation service with MOI's clear criminal record certificate issuance, allowing users to complete three transactions on one digital platform.

Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of MOI, emphasised the ministry’s dedication to enhancing government operations in line with the UAE's vision. He noted that the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme is crucial for removing redundant procedures. Collaboration with various entities continues to maintain the UAE’s leadership in government service excellence.

MoFA and MOI Launch Integrated Document Services

Omar Obaid Hassan AlShamsi, Undersecretary of MoFA, stated that the ministry is focused on developing a cohesive government system. This system offers innovative services aimed at improving citizens' and residents' lives. The initiative aligns with the leadership’s vision for comprehensive digital transformation and delivering top-tier government services.

Through this integrated service, customers can obtain digital attestations from MOI, MoFA, and the UAE embassy in their destination country via a single procedure. This process drastically reduces completion time from six days to just three minutes. Previously, it took three days within the UAE and another three abroad. Additionally, delivery fees have been removed.

When applying for a clear criminal record certificate through MOI's digital channels, users can select MoFA attestation during issuance directly from their MOI account. This integration allows access to a comprehensive government service in one step. It ensures proactive and convenient service access through digital platforms.

The streamlined process centralises submission of certificates and attestation requests along with fee payments within the MOI app and website. The system then electronically forwards certificates to MoFA for attestation. Complaints related to services are also managed through MOI’s website and application.

This initiative reflects a commitment to enhancing life quality for Emiratis by providing seamless access to essential services. By reducing bureaucracy and integrating services digitally, the UAE aims to set a global standard in efficient government operations.
