MoEI And Dubai Ports Authority Celebrate Seafarers Through ‘Connect With Your Family’ Initiative

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI), in collaboration with Dubai Ports Authority, recently held a community event to honour seafarers. This initiative, named 'Connect with Your Family,’ aims to express gratitude to these vital workers who ensure the smooth operation of global maritime trade. The event was part of efforts to help seafarers stay connected with their families while working at sea.

Seafarers received appreciation gifts during the event, acknowledging their dedication and contributions to the maritime industry. Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs at MoEI, stated, "This initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to easing the lives of seafarers in appreciation of the economic and humanitarian roles they play." The initiative highlights their professional value and aims to improve their quality of life.

The 'Connect with Your Family’ programme facilitates communication between seafarers and their families while docked in Dubai's ports. This effort helps maintain family bonds and provides reassurance during long periods away from home. By supporting this initiative, the UAE demonstrates its dedication to enhancing the well-being of those in the maritime sector.

Hessa Al Malek also emphasised the importance of collaboration with DP World and Dubai Ports Authority in organising this event. Captain Ibrahim Al Balooshi, CEO of Dubai Ports Authority, highlighted that this event mirrors the leadership’s approach to supporting maritime personnel. He remarked, "Seafarers are the true heroes behind global trade. Their dedication, patience, and sacrifices deserve our utmost appreciation."

The Dubai Ports Authority ensured all necessary facilities were available for organising teams entering ports, facilitating smooth execution of the event.
