MODON Signs Contracts Worth SAR 1 Billion To Develop Saudi Industrial Cities

The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has recently signed nine major contracts with the private sector, amounting to over SAR1 billion. These agreements aim to enhance the development of industrial cities throughout Saudi Arabia. This initiative aligns with MODON's vision to become the leading destination for investment growth and a key partner in the industrial sector, supporting the National Industrial Strategy and Vision 2030.

One of the new projects involves finalising infrastructure development for the initial phase in Jeddah's third industrial city. Another contract focuses on infrastructure development in the first phase of Makkah's second industrial city. Additionally, 4.3 million square meters of land have been allocated for investment to improve MODON's investment system, meeting both local and international investor expectations.

MODON Boosts Industrial Cities

In Dammam's third industrial city, a contract was signed to develop infrastructure and allocate 2.5 million square meters of land. This move aims to address the increasing demand for industrial investment in the Eastern Province. MODON also secured deals to establish 132 kV overhead lines in Tabuk's industrial city and 115 kV overhead lines in Hafar Al-Batin's industrial city, each with a capacity of 100 MVA, enhancing operational efficiency and meeting electrical energy needs.

MODON is committed to developing industrial cities that meet international standards, aiding Saudi Arabia's transformation into a significant industrial power and logistics hub. At the start of 2024, it launched "Modon Oasis" in Jeddah as part of efforts to attract quality industries, foster entrepreneurship projects, and support small and medium-sized enterprises.

Since its establishment, MODON has developed over 209 million square meters and implemented a comprehensive infrastructure system. It currently manages 36 industrial cities, including six industrial oases across Saudi Arabia. These cities house more than 6,500 industrial facilities that strengthen the industrial sector and significantly boost national exports.

The recent contracts reflect MODON’s dedication to creating an optimal environment for industrial growth and investment. By focusing on infrastructure development and energy efficiency, MODON aims to support Saudi Arabia’s broader economic goals under Vision 2030.
