MoCD And DCD Forge Partnership To Enhance Social Sector Services
In a significant move towards bolstering the social sector's efficiency and effectiveness, the Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) and the Department of Community Development - Abu Dhabi (DCD) have entered into a pivotal memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement is set to fortify the collaboration, coordination, and knowledge sharing between these two key entities. The primary goal is to enhance the strategic ties and partnerships, thereby elevating the quality of services offered within the social sector.
The MoU signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Development, and Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of DCD. Leaders from both parties were also in attendance, underscoring the importance of this agreement. This MoU is designed to solidify the cooperation frameworks between MoCD and DCD, particularly concerning non-governmental social care institutions and centres in Abu Dhabi. It aims to regulate their activities, boost their societal role, and empower them to deliver specialised services that improve societal well-being.
Furthermore, this agreement seeks to elevate the quality of social services by continuously refining the licensing, inspection, and oversight mechanisms as per the relevant legislation. This will be achieved through coordinated communication and planning between both entities. Such efforts underscore the complementary roles federal and local institutions play across different emirates. Additionally, this MoU will facilitate enhanced cooperation in legislative matters and policies related to social sector centres and institutions. It also promises a fruitful exchange of experiences, information, and updates in this vital area.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in ensuring that members of society receive high-quality social services. By aligning efforts at both federal and local levels, MoCD and DCD are setting a precedent for how strategic partnerships can lead to tangible improvements in public service delivery. This initiative not only aims at regulatory enhancements but also at fostering an environment where knowledge and best practices are shared freely between entities dedicated to social welfare.
