MOCCAE Partners With Emirates Growth Fund To Empower UAE SMEs In Food Security And AgriTech Innovation
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has partnered with the Emirates Growth Fund (EGF) to boost UAE companies in food, agriculture, and environmental resilience. This agreement was formalised at the Emirates Agriculture Exhibition and Conference 2025 in Al Ain, attended by Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and Najla Al Midfa, Vice Chair and Managing Director of EGF.
This collaboration unites two national entities focused on supporting SMEs in food security, agricultural innovation, environmental technologies, and climate-aligned business models. MOCCAE and EGF aim to create opportunities for UAE businesses to lead in building a sustainable economy. The partnership reflects a shared vision to empower the private sector for lasting impact.

The MoU outlines a framework for knowledge exchange, co-promotion of eligible companies, and showcasing success stories aligned with the UAE’s climate and food security goals. Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak stated, "This partnership paves the way for achieving our shared environmental objectives aligned with the goals of the National Food Security Strategy 2051, and We the UAE Vision 2031."
Dr. Amna emphasised that empowering SMEs in food supply chains and environmental innovation lays a foundation for national self-reliance and a future-ready economy. The Ministry is committed to fostering holistic climate action across all sectors to ensure readiness for global challenges.
Najla Al Midfa highlighted EGF's role in supporting businesses addressing national challenges through innovation. "EGF exists to support businesses solving national challenges through innovation and scale," she said. The Fund provides strategic guidance, governance support, and network access to agri-tech and environmental innovators.

Established with AED1 billion capital, EGF invests in growth-stage companies crucial to the nation’s strategic sectors. Beyond capital, it offers long-term partnerships to help scale enduring businesses. By focusing on agri-tech and environmental innovation, EGF invests in building blocks of national resilience.
