Misk Heritage Museum Enters 30-Year Agreement With Art Of Heritage To Exhibit Saudi Cultural Treasures

The Misk Heritage Museum "Asaan" has signed a significant 30-year agreement with Art of Heritage, linked to AlNahda Society. This partnership aims to display thousands of unique pieces owned by Art of Heritage, showcasing the "Saudi Way of Life." These artifacts have rarely been seen by the public before.

Asaan will manage and exhibit Art of Heritage's vast collection, which includes 57,000 ethnographic objects. Among these are nearly 3,000 pieces of jewellery, over 3,000 garments, and almost 40,000 photographic materials and daily tools. The collection also features more than 1,000 books and manuscripts, audio recordings and videos, centuries-old maps, and camel howdahs once used by locals.

Before moving the collection to the museum, Asaan plans to digitise it to preserve its historical value. This digital archive will play a crucial role in documenting Saudi Arabia's rich cultural heritage for future generations. The collection will also be part of Asaan’s educational programs and community engagement initiatives.

These efforts aim to strengthen the connection between society and Saudi Arabia’s cultural identity. By integrating the collection into artisanal product development inspired by these artifacts, Asaan seeks to inspire creativity and passion among visitors.

Asaan is set to open in a few years and promises an immersive environment for exploring Saudi culture.
