MIPCOM Strengthens Its Role In Middle East Media Through FOMEX 2025 Collaboration

The Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX) is set to host its third edition in Riyadh from February 19 to 21, 2025. This event will coincide with the fourth edition of FOMEX and marks the second collaboration with the international Co-Production and Entertainment Content Market (MIPCOM). This partnership highlights FOMEX's growing importance as a global media platform, reinforcing Riyadh's status as a media hub.

Chairman of the Saudi Media Forum and CEO of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority, Mohammed Fahad Alharthi, stated that FOMEX has become the largest exhibition of its kind in the Middle East. It attracts over 250 companies from various regions to display cutting-edge media technologies. Alharthi emphasized that FOMEX serves as a central hub for major production companies, including MIPCOM, which is renowned in the content and television production industry.

MIPCOM and FOMEX Join Forces for 2025

MIPCOM's involvement outside France for the second time underscores FOMEX's significance. Bassil Hajjar, MIPCOM's representative in the Middle East, highlighted this collaboration as pivotal in the regional media landscape. He noted that it positions Riyadh as a key destination for leading media brands and production sectors in the Middle East.

Pascal Lallemand, Director for the Middle East and Africa at MIPCOM, mentioned that both the Saudi Media Forum and FOMEX are witnessing substantial growth annually. The events see increasing participation from Arab and Middle Eastern countries, indicating their expanding influence in the region.

Alharthi further elaborated on how FOMEX combines innovation with technology to enhance Riyadh’s position as a global media destination. This aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to bolster Saudi Arabia’s presence on the international media map as a creative hub.

The collaboration between FOMEX and MIPCOM not only strengthens Riyadh's role but also highlights Saudi Arabia's commitment to becoming a leader in global media innovation.
